Couples Intensive Therapy Sunshine Coast | Sunshine Coast

Half-day and full-day couples therapy in Caloundra.

Longer, focused sessions to help you understand each other more clearly, work through patterns, and begin rebuilding connection in a way that feels steady and supported.

When weekly sessions don’t feel like enough

Some couples come to therapy feeling like they’re going in circles. You leave a session with more understanding, but by the next week, the same patterns show up again.

There can be more to say, more context, and more underneath it all that never quite gets the space it needs.

Couples intensive therapy offers a different pace. Longer sessions allow you to stay with a conversation, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin shifting patterns while you’re still in the room together.

At KindSpace Therapy in Caloundra, I offer couples intensive therapy on the Sunshine Coast, with half-day and full-day options for those wanting more focused support.

Session Option

Preparation Session (Required for New Clients)

Cost: $260

90-minute session

If you’re a new client, we start with a 90-minute preparation session before booking a trauma intensive session.

This session gives us time to properly understand what’s been going on for you, not just the surface level, but how things show up in your body, your emotions, and your day-to-day life.

We’ll move through this gently and at your pace, including:

  • exploring what’s bringing you in and what feels most important right now

  • getting a sense of your current triggers, stress levels, and supports

  • noticing how your system responds when things feel overwhelming or too much

  • beginning some parts work, identifying protective patterns like shutting down, overthinking, or pushing through

  • building grounding strategies that actually work for you, not just generic tools

  • mapping out what we might focus on during your intensive session

This helps create a clear direction and makes sure you have enough support in place before we go into longer, deeper work.

It also gives you a feel for how I work, so you can decide if this approach feels right for you.

If you’ve worked with me before, we can often move straight into an intensive session depending on where things are at.

Session Option - 3-hour Deep Work Session

Cost: $420

A 3-hour trauma intensive session gives us space to stay with one area long enough for something to actually shift.

We begin by settling your nervous system and orienting to the present, then move into focused processing using EMDR and parts-informed work. As things come up, we work with them in real time, noticing what your body does, what parts step in, and what needs support.

There’s room here to:

• slow things down when neededpause and regulate if things feel activated

• stay with a memory, trigger, or pattern without being cut off by time

We finish by helping your system settle again, making sense of what’s shifted, and ensuring you feel grounded before leaving.

This session tends to suit people who:

• want to focus on something specific

• are aware of a particular trigger, memory, or pattern

• prefer a more contained, structured intensive

ENQUIRE ABOUT 3-hour session

Session Option - 6-hour Therapy Immersion Session

Cost: $840

A 6-hour EMDR intensive session offers a slower, more spacious pace, with breaks and support built in across the day.

We’re not working continuously for six hours. The session is shaped in collaboration with you, with time to pause, eat, move, and reset your nervous system as we go. That might include stepping outside, a short beach walk, time to rest, or simply having space to breathe between processing. The aim is to keep your system supported, not pushed.

Across the session we:

  • begin by settling and orienting to the present

  • move into processing in stages using EMDR and parts-informed work

  • notice and work with what comes up in your body and internal system

  • allow space for different parts of you to be heard without rushing

  • take breaks when needed to support regulation and integration

Having this amount of time often means we don’t need to make quick decisions about when to stop or move on. There’s room to follow what’s emerging while still keeping things contained.

This session often suits people who:

  • notice layered or long-standing patterns

  • want the space to go deeper without feeling cut off

  • prefer a slower pace with more integration built in

We close with a longer integration phase, helping your body settle and making sure you feel steady before leaving, along with a clear plan for the next day or two.

How we begin?

An intensive session is exactly what it sounds like, a longer therapy session, usually 3 or 6 hours, where we focus on one area in a more contained w

After you enquire, or book an intro chat we’ll connect and get a sense of what you’re looking for.

If you’re a new client, we’ll begin with a 90-minute preparation session. This gives us time to understand what’s been going on for you and build grounding before moving into a longer intensive session.

If you’ve worked with me before, we can decide together whether to move straight into a 3-hour or 6-hour session.

Booking and payment

Trauma-intensive therapy sessions are booked in advance to allow time for preparation and planning.

For new clients, a 120-minute preparation session is required before booking a 3-hour or 6-hour EMDR intensive session. This helps ensure the work is paced well and that you feel supported going into a longer session.

To secure your intensive session, a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is paid prior to your session.

Sessions are held exclusively for you, which means they’re not easily filled if cancelled at short notice. For this reason, changes or cancellations require adequate notice. Full details will be provided at the time of booking.

If you have any questions about booking, payment, or session options, you’re welcome to get in touch.

FAQs

  • A trauma intensive therapy session is a longer, focused therapy session, usually 3 or 6 hours, where we stay with the work long enough for your system to process and settle. These sessions combine EMDR, parts work, and nervous system support to help move through experiences that still feel active or stuck.

  • In weekly therapy, we often begin to open things up and then need to stop when time runs out. In an EMDR intensive session, we have the space to stay with the work, process it, and allow your system to settle before finishing.

  • If you’re a new client, a 120-minute preparation session is required before booking a trauma intensive session. This allows us to understand what’s going on for you, build grounding strategies, and make sure this approach feels supportive and manageable.

  • We work this out together. In the preparation session, we look at how your system responds to stress, what supports you have in place, and whether a longer session feels like the right next step.

  • The sessions are paced carefully, with grounding and breaks built in throughout. After the session, it’s common to feel a range of responses as your system continues to process. We plan for this together so you feel supported once you leave.

Some people choose to book a trauma intensive session at a time when they don’t have major commitments immediately afterwards, or when they can take a day or two to rest. This can give your body and mind space to settle and integrate the work.

  • A 3-hour session is usually enough when there’s one clear issue or trigger to focus on. A 6-hour session allows more space to move through patterns or experiences that feel more layered. We can decide together what feels like the best fit.

  • Yes. Sessions are offered in person in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast.

  • You can enquire through the website or book an intro chat. If you’re a new client, we’ll begin with a preparation session before booking a longer trauma intensive therapy session.
